[Get to know Mary] The one about Father's Day

Today is Father's Day and many of us have spent our day feasting with family. In honor of this special day, I would like to dedicate today's post to my dad for all he has done to help me.

Before I begin telling you how awesome my dad is, I want to acknowledge there are people out there in which this day is difficult one. Not everyone is blessed with a daddy who is there for them - others may have lost their father and this day reminds them of how much they miss him. And then there are others who may have a single mom who parents alone. Whatever your circumstance, I acknowledge this day may be one of joy, or one of sorrow.

Dad is always hard at work.

Dad is always hard at work.

Dear Dad,

I know that being a father is no easy task. However, you have made a huge impact on my life........you were the first man to say "I love you" to me and the first man to show me what unconditional love truly means.

From teaching me how to walk to throwing a ball, you have shown me how to stand on my own two feet. As a dad, your job was not only to protect his little girl, but also to show me how to defend myself, when you are not around. You always believed in me and have been one of the biggest influences in my life.

A father is the one who guides his daughter through life. Whether it was a school play, sporting event, graduation or any defining moment in my life, you have always been one of my biggest fans. Wherever I end up, I hope that I always make you proud.

My dad and mom.

My dad and mom.

Every girl grows up looking up to her dad - but I've never stopped. I know there is no such thing as a perfect dad, but you are perfect to me! I love you Dad!!

Love Your Daughter,
