Trees & City Projects

As City of Goshen Engineer, I have firsthand knowledge of the sentimental value of trees, since many of my projects include tree removal and retention along the project corridor before the construction can even begin. We work closely with City Forester, Aaron Sawatsky-Kingsley, in this assessment process.

Did you know Goshen has a tree board?

Goshen is fortunate to have a tree board made up of volunteers that have implemented a tree replacement program. This program has allowed representatives from the Engineering Department and the City Forester to offer a replacement tree for each tree removed to the impacted residents along the construction project corridor. Each resident assists with the type of tree to be planted along with the proposed location for the tree.

DID YOU KNOW GOSHEN COLLEGE IS ONE OF THE GREENEST COLLEGES IN THE COUNTRY?

Goshen is one of the 353 most environmentally responsible colleges according to The Princeton Review’s Guide to Green Colleges. Read more here.
